Hubby Birthday Celebration @ Vis-A-Vis

Sometimes it is really hard to find a good restaurant at a reasonable price.
But today, is hubby Alan birthday, so as a nice wife, I got to think of something nice to treat him.
So today, I had specially plan to treat him french food at bukit timah.
This restaurant was intro to me by my super lovely friend Pei Shan, and she recommended me to be there for a good French food at a reasonable price.

Well, this place which I bring my hubby to is called " Vis - a  -Vis", located at Chun Tin Road, Opposite Beauty World at Bukit Timah area. The outlook of the restaurant is seriously a place I will not ever go in if no one intro me this place.
It just a shop that doesn't catches your eyes.

So well, before we start to get to the restaurant, I just start shooting session especially I just got a brand new compact Cannon camera.

We are the first guests for the dinner session. Or maybe many people is like me, don't really know this place.
The service personnel was really warm and friendly in the service. Before we enter the restaurant, immediately they came up and open the door for us.

They are patience enough to intro us the menu and carefully explaining to us how the dish is been cook and what it contain.
After view through the menu, it was rather fast for us to select the dishes we want.
So while waiting, its time for photo taking session.

Nice service from them giving us a free flow of bread to start with while waiting for the food to be serve.



It was not long before our soup is been served.
Mushroom & Truffle Soup
Darling Order the Wild Mushroom & Truffle Soup.  It taste super yummy, with strong fragrance of the wild mushroom. Appearance presented is delicate and we are just pamper with it.

French Onion Soup

While me, is having the French Onion Soup You could see that the big piece of whitish at the center is actually cheese. Every mouth of it is taste fantastic. Oh by the way this soup is with beef broth and that may be the reason why it is just so tasty.

It simply just taste so nice... Next we had our half dozen bake Escargot with garlic butter sauce.

Okay, this is my first time trying escargot and I have wanted to try quite long. Today is a chance for me.
Well, Escargot a nice name is actually a snail, to me the taste of the escargot is just like normal shell meat. But is the garlic butter sauce that make this dish fantastic. Before the food is brought to our table, you can immediately smell the appetizing garlic fragrant approaching you.

Okay before I forgotten, I really must intro their cocktail. Strawberry Special  and Honey Lime Juice.

The Juice is just so refreshing and fresh. For those who think that Honey Lime might be sour, it actually taste sweet with a strong lime smell. But to me, I love the Strawberry Special most... cause I love pink. Ha Ha.

Now for our main dish. 
Meltique Sirlion
 I choose a medium-well done Meltique Sirlion. The meat is just so tender and juicy. Cook to just what I would like to have, where you slice it, the center is still pinkish without blood oozing out.

The beef is accompany with 2 different sauce. The white one had the strong creamy wild mushroom taste, while the red one, I could taste beef juice with wine.  These two sauces complement very well with the tender sirloin. Every slice you could just taste the meat had a milky taste.

Roasted Rack of Lamb

For my hubby, he is having their signature dish which is Roasted Rack of Lamb. I'm a person that don't really take lamb due to the smell of the meat, so I hesitated quite long before having to taste a slice of it. To my surprise I actually manage to eat it, or perhaps if I never know is a lamb, I might finish it up.
I could taste that the meat is marinated with wine, and something fragrant that cover up the lamb smell. The only bad side is the meat is more rough, or I should say because darling had choose the lamb to be well done that causes it.

By the end of our meal, the waiter approaches us for dessert. But we are just too full with it and darling doesn't like to have chocolaty items, so we just got to give a miss for the dessert. I guess it would be nice as the way they had describe how each dessert look like and they come with different ice-cream to go with it.

Even though we did not order any dessert, they had given a complimentary plate of dessert which is chocolate and mango truffle. How sweet of them to provide this service.

Seriously, I really love this place as you get the 5star food and 5star service from the moment you step into the restaurant till you left.

You could just feel the waiter is so well knowledge and friendly. Slowly guide you through on what to have and their delicated attention they provide us. Thumbs up for this restaurant.

As for the price wise, I do feel it is reasonable despite my hubby feel the pinch, even thought I'm paying for it. Total damage for this meal S$199.74.
It sound alot, but for the service and food, I will definitely come again.


Okay since it is my hubby birthday, how can a birthday come without a birthday cake. I had secretly buy one and keep in the fridge when I knock off from work. Bought it from Emicakes as I ate once in my niece bday which I feel it taste rather nice.

What I got is a Oreo Durian Crunch cake, and I'm proud to say I really made the right choice. The cake is soft and it had a strong durian favor which is make up of D24 durian puree at the center.  Super glad that hubby love it, and this made it worth spending the $$ just to see him happily smile in his birthday.
