Weekend is all about Eat and Shop

Love this Sunday.
Cause I be looking for the travel fair at Suntec Convention Center.

And before that, I had decide to invite Agnes and Shyling over to my place for lunch.
Well it was my first time inviting people over to my place after I married, and I ought to make something nice (or should say edible).
Well, simple and fast cooking is to make Risotto and Mushroom Potato soup.
And I'm well prepare to mess up my kitchen.

How I made Risotto:

Ingredient

Butter
Chicken Stock - 6 cup
Rice - 2cups
Chicken slice - 200gm
Hot dog - 2 sticks and slice
Shitake - hmm i get about 6 pieces and slice
Tomato - I use one as i want it to be more colorful
Wine - 1 tablespoon (anything la.. i use rice wine.. some people use shao xing jiu, some use white wine)
3cloves of garlic

My practice is to prepare all the ingredient nicely and set aside.

Poor mushroom, stem got chop off by me... some people feel i'm rather wasteful in food... but does anyone eat the stem??

OK now is my favorite time... start frying.
A slat of butter down the pan.

Is kind of sinful to see the amount of butter i use.. but it really smell good especially i fried the garlic.

And finally throw in all the ingredient except rice in to stir fry.
Once down, set aside.

And finally time to fry the rice with butter till it is evenly coated with butter.

And finally.. add in the chicken stock slowly till it cover the rice and wait for it to be cook.
Chicken stock to be re-add once you see it is about to dry.

Stop adding once the rice is completely cook and mix the earlier ingredient in, to mix again... and tada...
there you have your Risotto.

How I made Mushroom Potato Soup:

Ingredient

Shitake -( i put about 5 pieces... remember to cube it / mince it)
Potato - 4 small baby wash potato, cube it
Water - 1n half can
Most Important Campell Mushroom Potage

This is the most simple... all you need to do, just throw everything into the pot and stir till the potato soften.

Well with this 2 dishes, we quickly enjoy our lunch before we set off to suntec.
And it's like, i been ages never took a MRT to town... super excited lor.

So dress up in casual wear... off we gooooooooooo.

Finally we reach city hall station. They were quite piss that we need to walk so far to suntec... but i hack care.... It is so rare i can take a train to town and hopping around to window shop.

It is like more than 1~2 years i never walk through city link mall... and the shops there is somehow super new to me. Can't believe it had change so much.

I'm like a tourist and suddenly... something attracted me.

Mr Hershey... i definitely must take a photo with it.

When did it ever open a Hershey shop here?? Wow... loves chocolate. everything is so cute and nice in it.

I wish to bring home the hershey kiss coin bank... but just worry Alan will go crazy.

So i only can took a pic as memories.

With so many wow thing to see... we finally reach suntec city for the travel fair.

It is really crowded lor, thought only ASA will be having the fair here... in the end saw another 2 other travel agency.

Singaporean seems like very rich despite keep complaining they are unable to keep up with inflation.

Can you imagine with so many counter, yet you still need to Q for enquires like more than 10 groups  in front??

Especially those Long Haul flight.... haiz...

Really hard to decide to go to which country... taiwan, korea or Japan???

In the end we just took the brochure and end up shopping at Marina Square. (Ladies always not focus on what they initially plan).

Anyway still enjoyable... as I love going out with Agnes and Shyling to craps..

Receive email from my best friend Wawa...
I think should be weeks ago... or i should say months ago....

Haha had not been checking my email... now start clearing and find it likes more than 600 unread mails.

So i finally open this mail and find it rather true... where 21st Century start to go "Less"

Morning is forever a draggy period

The best part of my life is i never need to set alarm clock to wake up early in the morning.
That is becos of my hubby Alan.... he sure wake up before I do.
I'm simply lazy and will sleep till the last min or i should say the last second that is possible.

Even Alan is on leave, he will still wake up the same time... just becos a lazy fat woman never want to get out of the bed.

The Best Part... i will only say... any breakfast for me???

Alan: " Nothing to eat"
Me: " Huh you wan me die of hunger????"
Alan :" A poop of SHxx, you want"

Piss off....

But before i out of the house... ta da.... breakfast is ready for me at the dinning table...
Though it is on the go type still lovely... and all i need is grap and go to office to enjoy.

What had our Little Red Dot become??

This year our Little Red Dot is going through lots of up and down.
2011 a year where we had both parliment and President election...
News about Flash Floods, murder cases (which seems to be alot) to even the "Fun Pack" song for NDP is like creating lots of havoc for this little red dot

Many people had comment the Singapore is not like what they use to be...
No longer safe, no longer a place specially for Singaporean... our government sucks... blah blah blah...

With all the forum that we see online... I can just see... Singaporean is damn spoilt.
Spoilt for growing in a good environment... they are totally been spoon feed and never go through the hardship where our Ah Gong and Ah Ma when through.

All they know is complaint, complaint and complaint... Most important is Finger pointing to the government whatever case happen. Young generation seem to be so pessimistic... Reading forum nowadays make me shake my head.

Flash Flood:
Flood at Tanglin mall and ST Regis... so now is government problem that it made that place flood???
Why people can't think, of all the places why these 2 places kanna??? If not, back to the basic, why last time dont flood now start flooding?? My New Bling Bling Mirror

A Boring weekend just made me feel like trying something new.

It had been quite popular that many people had their handphone bling.
Everywhere is selling bling bling casing.. since i would like to maintain my girly or princess feeling..
I thought of making my accessories bling bling.

Well guess i got to start off with something... and my lucky freebies will be my first guinea pig.
That my Penguin Mirror which i got it free when i bought cosmetic. [Cant remember when i got it]
Anyway.. i left over lots of Rhinestones which initially my intention was to bling up my wedding shoes...

Anyway that was few months ago story...
Ok my lucky Penguin Mirror is going to transform from my delicate hand... { hehe.. i hope i can really do a good job}

Look before it had been Transform

To start off with my job... i need tools... My Penguin mirror.. Tweezers ( get those sharp point one not those you pluck your eyebrows type).. Epoxy glue... and most important is my Rhinestones... without them how am I going to make it bling up...

These are the tools are used to decorate it

So what I did is, i choose my favorite color to be the background... which is Pink.
(Tips: always choose color that is close to the background of the item you are working... becos how good you place... there will still be gaps and able to see the background color)


I started off from the most outer layer and i slowly move downwards... quite different from many others people doing where they will complete fully the outer shape first..
Not sure why... maybe it is a better way???
Anyway when i reach the design for the "Penguin" i actually try to complete the penguin shape first and i even put up the Black Eyes first so that I am able to get to the exact location.
My thinking was... the whole focus is on the Penguin... anything at the background is just a decoration.

I also like which to personalise it, as such I put a "W" at the center.

Feeling it might be a bit dull... so i add on with two green flowers at the bottom left corner.

Settling Family meal in fast and Cheap ways

Well... I'm working full time, and my part time job is been a housewife.
Although my working hour is 8 to 5.30pm there are times where i need to work late.

It is really sick of my life if i need to rush home and prepare dinner for the family. Nowadays TaBao outside for normal economic rice will cost you $3 ~ $3.50 a pack for nothing much. And to cater for the whole family of 3~4 person will simply cost you $12.

So here are some of my ways to save money:

Usually for weekend i will do my own cooking. A bag of Vege (Xiao Bai Cai) cost me $1.00. Buy a bag of Frozen mince pork.. max $5.50 for 500g.. and i usually cook 250g for one meal.. and i love to steam it with egg to as it is more healthier and taste now. Now you can just cook 2~3 cups of rice that the most cost you $1.00. Which mean one meal for 4pax the most will cost you $6. See how much u save.

If today i am super lazy and dont wish to cook... Just go down to your coffeeshop and tell the economic rice uncle you want Ta Bao the dishes dont want rice. A meal for 4 having 4 different dishes the most cost you about $9 and when you reach home... just cook the rice.. Well able to to see how much you save.. at least $2

Want something different... just get to cold storage by their bbq chicken.. Family size at offer will cost you $10.99 and what you need to do... bring the chicken home and cook your own rice... in a weekend mood..
I sometime will get take home pack Yami Yogurt @$8.. see a meal less than $20 will give you a nice meal with dessert...

For me as a super aunty.. when i get to the supermarket... when there is offer for some product, i will buy and store it. Like pizza... frozen pork.. frozen prawn etc... Usually those stuff that you know you will consume.. and that is how i do my small saving.

Especially i like to eat junk food.. pizza is always in my fridge. I usually bought those NTUC pizza... and i will top up with hotdog and those normal cheese before putting it to bake in the oven..

Well, I think i always had brilliant ideas flowing into my mind to make a yummy meal to pamper myself.

Working hard to be a good part-time house wife

~ I lost all my Engineering Background

Out of sudden.. i sense that i lost all my engineering knowledge.
I'm not sure why... i can't remember what i had learn in my poly and uni days....

Despite i score well in quite a few hard subjects like thermodynamic, fluid mechanics etc... i now got no idea wtf is that.
Alan is having difficulty to score for his Thermodynamic exam but i just got no idea how to explain despite i got High Distinction in my Uni days.

And the funniest thing i can say... I'm a enginnering student with super sucks in mathematic... can't see the logic why when all my subject are related to calculation.

Today my customer ask me another engineering qns... and i return him " What is that huh".
OMG... i really can FML liao... it seems like i been sleeping throughout my school days.

Beside google scholar... what are the other search engine i can use??

For medical student they are able to use "Pubmed"

For engineering student... what are the good sites to use???

Shit man... i think i stop thinking about it...all i want is to be a housewife... no more stupid graph and equations..!!! Arrghhhhh

Pete's Wedding

2nd of July... attending Pete's wedding.
My best Aussie frz and i super look forward for him to come singapore.

It was really great that he found a singaporean wife... which mean... we got more chance to meetup.

I was not sure what kind of wedding i be going... but when i arrived... i saw Pete and was super surprise.

He is wearing a tradition Hindu Groom costume and his mum is wearing saree too... look super cool.

I enter the ceremony room... everyone is distributed with a guide on their ceremony process.

By the way Pete is an aussie, Bride is a mix blood of hindu and chinese...wondering how their kids will look like.. must be super chio or handsome.

The whole ceremony i keep seeing the priest chanting... and i wonder does Pete understand??
While looking at the ceremony... i do some camwhoring to keep myself entertain...

Sorry.. i know i should be serious during the ceremony, but i just cant stop my hand to take pic.

Coming to the end of the ceremony... which took 45mins.( heard the original should be a 3hour session) every guest is to give blessing to the couple by sprinkling some yellow rice on them.

I was so shoik and i just enjoy it...

Finally is lunch time... and i'm waiting for it.. cos i love indian food... yummy...

Off we set off to tanglin mall Yandra restaurant for the wedding lunch.

Searching for my seat... but can't locate my name in the list.. shit... ok finally found it.. under University of Newcastle and total 6 of us to share the table.

 OK before we start the buffet... is camwhoring time...

But i heard is not cheap at all... might cost me more than S$100... haiz i better drop my mind about it.
Me so budget people where can afford it.

My "Blue Dolphin" enter A&E

30th June.....
Mark a day where lots of event keep pouring in to me.

Month end is often the joyous day for me... why?? Is Pay day.
What more... I receive a white letter..."Not kanna sack" is a promotion letter.
From a normal engineer finally jump to Senior Engineer. Took about 4 years to reach this stage.
Is not the tittle that make me happy, if the 10% increment that make me "high".

So excited thinking how am I going to pamper myself with this amt of $$.

Happily driving home when suddenly in the middle of BKE my "blue dolphin" had a yellow light on at the dashboard indicator.

WTF the yellow light on for??

Everything seems fine, but what the fish this light on for what?? what is that stupid sign mean???
Car can move = still ok to drive??? Hack care just continue to drive to mum's house before i start to check. Told Alan about it , and he say i accidental switch on dun know what light.... He think i idiot issit... i drive this car for abt 4 years lor... this is the 1st time i meet this problem lor.

Shit man... why does god treat me in this way... just pay day wan me to start coughing out $$$.

Aiya... my swifty "blue dolphin" think must send to A&E liao... Internal injury plus the gear was super loose lor. Lock in @ fifth gear, can also shift  left right to 1st and 3rd. WTF???
