Day 1 Honeymoon @ Taipei

My long awaiting trip.... Finally we manage to go for our honeymoon due to our tight schedule. I am so excited about it... 4 years had not been travelling for holiday... all my travel were work related.
Well, this round we choose to travel with tour agency, save our trouble to plan and decide where to move about.
We got to meet at the airport @8.15am with our tour leader and group of people we will be travelling together for the next 8days. Our journey begins once we board on the aircraft...

(Sorry for those reading my blog on Taiwan trip... I going to flood with photos)

Excited once we start flying
Since the travelling time is 4 hour, it mean I got plenty of time camwhore and snapping pictures around.
Our Face look so tired
Finally here come our meal.... okay frankly speaking, the taste is not so fantastic, but I just like the way airline present the food.
Fried Rice

Beef + Mash Potato
And finally we get more excited as we start seeing Taiwan.... Hello Taiwan, here we come.

Posing while on the way to clear custom
Upon clearing the custom, we meet the tour guide for the 8days stay in Taiwan. Super nice guy and knowledgeable. And quickly with our luggage we board the bus waiting for us and head to our first stop of trying the high-speed train to the Taipei town.

The Entrance to the High-Speed train station

Ticketing Machine

This is where my boarding area will be... No free seating

Hear come the train... manage to get a snap shot of it.

My seat was actually separate away from my hubby... however the nice uncle saw it, therefore offer to exchange seat with me. Thanks alot... Taiwanese are so nice and friendly.

Once reached, the first stop that we go to was 淡水老街 (Dan Shui Old Street). Very well know for selling quail egg ( 铁蛋). But it was raining heavily with wind blowing, that make me shiver. In the end, instead of using my foldable umbrella, we ended up buying 2 big umbrella.
I never bought any quail eggs that, but instead enjoying the "smelly bead curd" which taste not bad. And a dish call ah gei ( 阿给). What it contain inside is actually bead curd wrap with glass noodles and with their special sauce in it. Taste yummy.
The only things I don't really like about Taiwan after first day visit is... why is rubbish bin so hard to find??? I walk a few streets but couldn't find a single bin, in the end.. hehe... I throw it to my tour guide since they having coffee at a cafe.
Our next stop is Shilin market (士林夜市. A famous and well know place in Taiwan that everyone one will visit when they are there. This place is well known for the food they offer.... tasty, huge variety and most importable is cheap.
My Tour Guide giving us a small brief on what is nice here and what not to take. He keep saying anything that is cold... don't buy cause he worry we got weak stomach.

It is always good that if you gone to their night market, it be best that you had accompany. Not because of safety, but is due to Taiwan had too many nice snacks, and if you need to try most of the items, you definitely need someone to help you consume it.

Super huge sausage
First item we try is 大肠包小肠 (big sausage wrap small sausage). The so call Big Sausage is actually made of glutinous rice, that it will be wrap with pickles and yummy sausage depend on the favor we order. For me, I choose the garlic one.

大肠包小肠

Next the famous item here, Super XL Crispy Chicken Cutler. For this, you seriously need to share with another person, the size is so huge that after eating you be feeling almost full. Price is cheap too that cost me SGD2.40. A must to try even though the Que is forever long.

As we move around we just feel like eating more items but our tummy is going to burst. OMG.

Next we cross the street to the opp, which still consider as Shilin market to shop.
Seriously, this place is Ladies Paradise... item from hair accessories, clothing to shoes are all in affordable price.

And we pop by a stall that call Prince Frog where we get our drinks here. Yummy as it put in lots of jelly and bubble tea pearl. Chewy and quench our thrist too.

Yup... I'm looking at PJs... as they are really cheap. It only cost me around SGD5.00 /pc. So I grab 2 and go.

Then as we move to one alley, we saw 2 temples. Rather unique so I just pose for a picture here.

Temple at the roof..
By the time we reach our hotel is almost 11pm. Really tire and wish to have a good rest. But I still manage to take a few shots of my room stay.

Nice and comfy, a 5 star hotel which I feel they had equip with all the necessity of what we need.

Love the look through glass from bedroom to bathroom

I did a short video of this hotel room tour... view it to see what they have.
(Hotel name: Chateau De Chine)

Okay I shall stop here and continue with my work. Will blog more on my Taiwan trip this weekend.
